Most restaurants will not include a service charge on the bill – but it never hurts to check.

Generally, you should be prepared to tip 10% of the amount you spent. You hand the staff the money and tell them the total amount you want to pay, tip included.

At pubs, cafés and midrange restaurants the common practice is to round up the amount on the bill to the next 10Kc or next 20Kc, if it is over 200Kc.

It’s advisable to carefully check ones bill and change.
